Describe yourself

My name is Lindsey Engelbert - I am currently in my first year as a graduate student in the Engineering, Design, and Innovation (EDI) program. I graduated from Northwestern in 2009 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and certificates in design and for co-oping at ITW.

After spending my co-op at a pure engineering company, I decided I wanted to explore the business world and spent 3 years doing management consulting with Diamond and then PricewaterhouseCoopers. I spent time working in teams ranging from 2-30 people and engagements lasting 2 weeks to 2 years. I supported projects such as implementing lean principles into a CPG company's office setting, evaluating a 7 month late / 100% over-budget government rail project, acting as a business proxy between Marketing and a development team working on website development for a discount domestic air carrier, implementing IT PMO to a grocery chain, and acting as a change manager for an airline agent application project following a major airline merger.

I gained valuable skills and learned a lot while with PwC, but I missed design and working in a truly collaborative environment. The closest I was to design was working for nearly 2 years on web development projects for an airline. I worked closely with the Marketing and User Experience groups to define website requirements and user interactions, which I then translated to the development and testing teams including local and international teams. I worked on various projects including introducing a new loyalty system, redesigning the internal employee booking system, and leading the business analyst team for the project surrounding the airline's acquisition. I thoroughly enjoyed having an influence on the user experience and design of the site and helping build something that millions of users would interact with daily. I learned so much about web development and the processes surrounding it, and I hope that I can apply these skills to NUvention Web!

Skills: Project Management, Agile Development, (learning) Adobe Suite, Experienced with using FireBug, Artistic, Collaborative and Enthusiastic team member!

Reason here:   Just learn the process

I am interested in NUvention Web
