Mentors

Interested in coaching some of these teams and judging their progress? We would love to have you! Even if you can only be present for a couple hours on one day of the weekend, we would deeply appreciate your support.

If you have the entire weekend free, that's even better! Not only will you receive that warm fuzzy feeling from passing on your knowledge to the next generation, but you will also receive a full profile on our website and in the event's program. This is a great way to meet up and coming young talent and to put your company's name on their minds. Did we mention that there will be website traffic from users who want to vote on each team's ideas? If this sounds like a neat opportunity, please email the event coordinator, Colton Dillion, at This email address is being protected from spambots. We would really love to have you in the room for the following times or any duration of time you would kindly donate:

Friday: 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

This time will be used to judge and vet the initial thirty second pitches on what problem the competitors are trying to solve; it will then be used to coach the surviving teams through business model development. Can you help teams identify key partners and resources while forming an optimal cost structure and a revenue model? We would love to have you.

Saturday: 9:00 am - 11:00 am

This time will be used to judge and vet second round pitches about business models. Have experience as a supply chain manager or a venture capitalist? It would be great for the students to hear your opinion of their business models.

Saturday: 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm

This time will be used to build mock-ups and minimum viable products to test assumptions and basic questions. Students may then go out into the field to ask their users for validation and feedback. Do you have a background in product design or human factors? Maybe you're an agile developer? We would love to have you in the room.

Sunday: 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Another round of judging. This time you will be judging them on their direction validation. What did they learn and how are they responding to the new data? Project managers and investors will have some great insights to render forward.

Sunday: 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

This is the final stretch for the teams. They'll be finalizing their business models, putting finishing touches on the prototypes they want to present, and developing a final pitch. If you  can help any of these activities, and you have a particular interest in storytelling, you will be sorely needed at this time.

Sunday: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Final judging. This will be the top 8 teams' opportunity to present their final outcomes. They will be judged on the quality of their work up to this point and the presentation of their ideas. If you are a venture capitalist, an angel, or a serial entrepreneur we would love to have you render final decisions, especially if you are interested in investing.
